Vape coils are the engine room of the electronic cigarette, they make the delicious vapour that we all enjoy.
Vape coils come in all shapes, sizes and materials but in truth they all work in exactly the same way, with two working parts, the coil and the wicking material.
The wicking material, usually cotton is saturated in e-liquid which then wicks the liquid to the coil. The coil is a metal piece of wire that is wrapped into a round tube shape. Once the fire button on the device is pressed this will activate the coil which vapourises the liquid for you to inhale.
A replaceable coil will often come in a multi-pack of five and must be changed regularly to ensure you are getting the best performance from your device.
When the flavour starts to taste different such as burnt or dry regardless of how much liquid is in the tank it is usually a sign of the coil coming to the end of its lifespan.
The lifespan of a coil can be very different from vaper to vaper as the amount you vape, the power setting the coil is running at and even the type of e-liquid you vape will all play a role in the longevity of a coil but on average we often find most vapers replace a coil every 1-3 weeks.
