What’s your name and role in the business?
Anthony, Graphic Designer and Content Writer
Lee, Customer Service Manager
Billy, Warehouse Assistant
Laurie, IT Manager
How long have you been vaping, how and when did you start your vape journey?

Anthony: Over 12 years ago, I switched from smoking to vaping. This shift inspired the founding of Tablites Vape Store. Our aim was to create a safe haven where individuals, like myself, could explore, learn, and truly understand the world of vapes – discovering how they function and determining if they suit their preferences and needs.

Initially, I didn’t intend to quit smoking by using an e-cigarette; I was simply curious about this futuristic concept. Vaping felt like a glimpse into tomorrow, and I couldn’t resist trying it out. Today, the vaping landscape has transformed remarkably. What began as basic kits available in newsagents and petrol stations has evolved into powerful, compact, and customisable devices tailored to individual vaping habits and preferences, available at dedicated vape shops with expertly trained staff to help on your vaping journey.

Through our physical vape shop locations nationwide and our bustling online store, we’ve guided numerous customers in transitioning from cigarettes to vapes – offering a cleaner, safer alternative. The loyalty of our returning customers speaks volumes; vapes have helped countless individuals leave cigarettes behind, embracing a future where vaping ensures swift and clean nicotine delivery.

Lee: I have been vaping for around 12 years. I was first introduced to vaping by a work colleague at a previous job and have since gone on to work in the vape industry. I really enjoy helping customers, guiding them in the right direction, whether it involves helping them choose a new vape kit or providing troubleshooting information as they explore the world of vaping.
Billy: I began vaping when I started working at Tablites about 6 months ago. I was looking to cut down on cigarettes and vaping has really helped.

Laurie: I started vaping back in 2010, long before it was the everyday sight we know today. I was looking at a way to stop smoking and thought I’d give the newest method of electronic cigarettes a try. I remember getting strange looks and comments from smokers back then but I imagine most of those people have since vaped.

What was available in the early days of the industry is nothing like what we have today. It was mainly very thin pen shaped kits with low power and low vapour production. It was messy and expensive as the few companies that did exist weren’t local so everything had to be bought online from 1 or 2 companies who charged a high price.

What’s your go to vape kit and why?

Anthony: My current set up is the Vaporesso XROS 3 Mini pod system vape kit. I don’t like overcomplicated devices, high wattages, sub-ohm vaping and high VG juice doesn’t interest me and my personal vaping style. The XROS 3 Mini is a reliable kit that requires minimal maintenance, it doesn’t feature any fancy menus, buttons or features.

I fill the Vaporesso XROS Series 0.6 ohm pod with juice, inhale on the mouthpiece and enjoy. When my pod needs replacing, I pull out the used pod and press fit a new one and continue vaping. If you are an existing smoker or user of disposable vapes and you are looking to transition permanently to a refillable vape kit that’s compatible with bottles of e-liquid then the XROS 3 Mini is an excellent entry level kit that will last you a day or more between charges.

Lee: Aspire Gotek. I love how simple it is to use and how good the vape quality is.
Billy: My go-to vape kit of choice is the Aspire Gotek X. The device is simple, easy to use and the refilling mechanism is well positioned for quick and easy e-liquid top ups. Can’t go wrong with it, plus it’s a bargain priced at £9.99 and comes with everything you need to vape right away.

Laurie: I actually stopped vaping back in 2021 so I don’t have a go to vape setup. The last kit I used was the Lost Vape Orion Q which has since been discontinued.

I think If I was still vaping, I would probably use something like the OXVA XLIM SQ Pro due to its tiny size and good performance. I would also say that I have always been impressed by what Aspire does and can see why they are still a market leading company, so would also look at one of their smaller kits like the Gotek or Cyber series.

What is your favourite vape juice flavour and why?

Anthony: My current favourite e-liquid flavour is Elux Legend Rainbow in 20mg (2%). I’m a big fan of the Elux nic salt range and regularly switch between Rainbow, Banana Ice and Blueberry Sour Raspberry. I enjoy the sweeter vape juice flavours. The 50/50 PG/VG mix gives the perfect balance of throat hit and flavour, with small clouds of vapour which I personally enjoy.

For many years I used our very own Tablites E-Liquid range which are blended with an 80/20 PG to VG ratio, designed specifically for those transitioning from smoking to vaping. The higher ratio of PG provides a cigarette-like throat hit for those looking to replicate a real smoking sensation. My favourite flavours in the range are Blueberry, Watermelon, Blue Raspberry and Mango which I really recommend.

Lee: I've been enjoying the Elux Legend Triple Mango nic salt on a daily basis for months now. What captivates me is the strength of the flavour and the consistent taste that never fades, setting it apart from other e-liquids I have tried.
Billy: Blueberry Sour Raspberry by Elux. The flavour tastes really good and the high nicotine strength (20mg) really helps with my nicotine cravings.
Laurie: Again, I no longer have a favourite vape juice flavour. I was always a fan of anything apple flavoured when I did vape so would probably still be using the same. Maybe one of the Apple & Peach juices that matches what comes in one of the many ranges of disposable vapes or perhaps Doozy vapes Apple & Grape as I don’t think I could get a more local e-liquid if I tried as I regularly drive past their facility.
What advice would you offer to someone who is starting out on their vape journey?

Ant: Start off by purchasing an inexpensive vape kit like the Aspire Gotek X for £9.99 and test the waters. Start exploring flavours, nicotine strengths and styles of e-liquid and see what you prefer. If you previously smoked menthol cigarettes explore the minty/menthol flavours available, likewise with tobacco.

If you want to completely disassociate smoking with vaping try something completely new like fruity flavours or desserts. It's all about finding the right kit and vape juice for you and your needs.

If you are looking for help, advice or guidance on the best kits and e-liquids have a read of our ‘Top 10’ blogs, give us a call or pop into your local Tablites store where our expertly trained staff can help you get started and set up.

Lee: Don’t vape disposables as an everyday device. Get a refillable vape kit and refill it with good quality e-liquid. It’s cheaper, provides better flavour and overall much better for the environment.

If you are starting on your vaping journey and you do use single-use disposables make sure you recycle your used vapes at Tablites store locations. This costs absolutely nothing and the precious materials can be used over again.

Billy: Vaping is a really good alternative to smoking cigarettes and it’s much more cost effective. It’s a no brainer.

Laurie: Don’t get bogged down by the technical specs of each and every kit out there. Just go for something easy to use and matches your style. When trying to stop smoking the vape kit you will be happy to use everyday is the right kit for you.

It doesn’t matter what features it does or doesn’t have if they just make it harder to use and make you more likely to go back to cigarettes. Get something you can just pick up and vape without hassle.

What are your favourite vape kit brands right now and why?

Anthony: I personally love Aspire vape kits, they are innovative, intuitive and are built really well.

The coils and pods are sold in vape stores across the country so you can always pick up supplies. Whether you prefer mouth-to-lung vaping, restricted-direct-to-lung vaping or direct-to-lung vaping, Aspire have you covered. Explore our Aspire Vape Kits collection and take a look for yourself at the diverse options.

Lee: Aspire has consistently held the position of my favourite vape hardware brand over the years. Their commitment to producing high-quality products that perform exceptionally well has been unmatched.

The excellence of their coils, particularly in delivering rich and satisfying flavours, has contributed significantly to my vaping experience.

Billy: Anything Aspire. Aspire vape kits work really well, they are simple to use and they are priced fairly. For the price of two disposable vapes you can purchase a great entry level refillable Aspire kit that’s ready to use out of the box.
Laurie: It’s obvious that we are big fans of Aspire here so I will try and differ from the pack a bit and say that the kits Oxva are offering these days are fantastic. I love the designs of the various pro kits and clearly our customers do too as these kits are some of our best sellers.
What are your favourite vape juice brands right now and why?

Anthony: Disposable vape inspired vape juice flavours are leading the way right now with a smooth inhale and additional flavour concentrate. My favourite vape juice brands currently are Elux Legend, Maryliq by Lost Mary and the newly released Firerose e-liquids by Elux.

If you are looking for a refillable kit with disposable vape flavours, then take a look at the brands mentioned above to replicate a cheaper and more eco-friendly alternative to disposables.

Lee: Elux juice has firmly secured its place as my go-to liquid ever since its introduction last year. The wide variety of flavours it offers, coupled with consistently strong and flavourful options, has made my vaping experience more enjoyable than ever.
Billy: Elux and Firerose nicotine salts reign supreme at the moment. They both taste amazing, there’s plenty of variety of flavours and available in 10mg and 20mg If I ever want to lower my nicotine dose.
Laurie: I mentioned Doozy vape co before as they are so local to me (West Yorkshire) and they have a huge variety of flavours across multiple ranges. I truly believe they have a flavour for everyone from classic bakery themed flavours to those that match disposable vapes and everything in between.
What do you forecast as being the next hottest vape kit?

Anthony: Due to the huge success of the Aspire Gotek X kit, I’m really looking forward to the new releases in the Gotek Series like the Gotek X II and the Gotek Pro. These new kits follow similar design principles to the original with a matchbox shape, inhale activation and meshed coil technology.

Vaporesso are also leading the way with innovation, releasing products with large batteries within small and portable devices. If you prefer RDTL vaping and higher wattages keep your eyes peeled for the Vaporesso XROS Pro kit.

Lee: Aspire Gotek Pro. The Pro offers all the benefits of the original Aspire Gotek X with a better design and larger battery.
Billy: Gotek Pro for sure.

Laurie: It’s hard to know what the next big thing will be. If you had asked me 10 years a go if disposable vapes would make a come back I’d never have predicted the huge uptake of such devices we have seen in recent years.

I see a lot of innovation from companies to replace disposables with far more environmentally friendly vapes. I think this year we will see a rise in the number of prefilled vape kits being used and hopefully in the near future we will see more and more recycling schemes for vapes.

What do you forecast as being the next hottest vape flavour?

Anthony: The entire vape industry in the UK has recently gone back to basics with simple to use pod kits and nic salts leading the way. Fruity flavours sometimes with added mint are the hot sellers right now.

E-Liquids coming out of China are currently dominating and I would like to see heavy hitting UK brands like IVG, Doozy Vape and Vampire Vape release some hot new flavours to compete. Before the huge influx of e-liquid flavours that mimic disposables I was a huge fan of vanilla custard and bakery flavours like doughnuts, apple pie and cereals. I would like to see dessert and bakery vape flavours make a big return.

Lee: Hopefully some good dessert or bakery flavours once manufacturers realise that there’s more to life than Blue Raspberry.
Billy: Personally anything with Mango as the taste is so good. Triple Mango Elux is my all-time favourite flavour with sweet and tropical notes of fresh and juicy mango.

Laurie: The most popular flavours have and will always be tobacco and menthol. You won’t see them mentioned on social media or advertised in every shop in the land, but when you remember most vapers are ex-smokers the majority of people will have used one of these two flavours.

I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

What vape brands are pushing innovation?

Anthony: In my opinion brands like Elf Bar, SKE and Lost Mary are pushing innovation right now, firstly with their disposables, then their prefilled kits like the Crystal Plus, Tappo and Elfa Pro and maybe soon refillable kits compatible with their own e-liquids.

Of all the vape brands I’m always most excited for new Aspire vape kits and Aspire coils, they always push the boundaries and introduce something new. One of my favourite all time kits is the Aspire Flexus Blok.

I love the filling mechanism, large battery life, coils, compact design and fast charging capabilities. I would really enjoy to see this kit updated or a new product that follows a similar design.

Lee: Aspire, they offer every type of device imaginable. Their vape products are always well made and work perfectly. Aspire just do it the best.

Billy: Elux is currently leading the way in vape juice flavours, and I'm eager to try the new Elux Zero N pre-filled pod vape kit. The Peach Mango and Blueberry Sour Raspberry pre-filled pods sound delicious.

Although I've never used a pre-filled vape device before, I think it will be convenient as a spare backup device.

Laurie: Oxva are one to watch. They bring out new kits throughout the year and then tweak, improve and perfect them to make a pro version. They have made improvements on everything in the range including the pods bringing out newer versions and multiple options for each of their vape kits.
