Innokin: A History

Innokin Technology are widely regarded as one of the best e-cigarette manufacturers in the world. Innokin’s aim is to provide innovative designs to the highest quality standards, in an effort to produce the best electronic cigarettes and Advanced Personal Vaporisers in the world.

Founded in 2011 in Shenzhen, China Innokin has grown rapidly over the years into a powerhouse of vaping devices. With a huge factory in their hometown and a dedicated After Sales Service and Repair centre in California, USA Innokin are a truly international brand.

Innokin currently hold 71 Design Patents, 40 Patents for Utility Models and 61 Processing Patents as they lead the way in e-cigarette innovation.

From their beginning, producing eGo-stlye batteries and clearomisers in the iTaste range, Innokin have tried to create an alternative to wasteful, underpowered, poorly performing disposable devices.

One of their earliest clearomiser designs, the iClear 16, now has numerous iterations like the iClear 16D which uses a bottom-situated atomiser coil and the iClear 16S which uses a completely redesigned coil. While the redesigned tanks have gained a dedicated following among vapers even the original is still one of the most popular clearomisers in the world!

Innokin have also created some of the most popular mods on the market today; again in the iTaste range the MVP offered vapers the chance to take full control over their vape with variable voltage and variable wattage settings, plus an enormous battery life meaning less time spent charging and more time vaping.

The MVP has two redesigned follow-ups, each featuring a wider range of available power and slightly increased battery life. The MVP 3 is able to run sub-ohm tanks and rebuildable atomisers with ease.

Slightly before the release of the MVP series Innokin released a tube style mod called the SVD.

Using removable 18650 sized batteries and featuring an easy to use variable voltage system, the Innokin SVD allowed vapers to carry spare batteries so they didn’t have to run for a charger every few hours and it was able to run practically any atomiser on the market thanks to its eGo-510 connection. The SVD 2.0 was an upgrade that switched the variable voltage system for a variable wattage one, but kept the same easy functionality.

Around this time Innokin introduced the iClear 30 clearomiser (and soon after the updated iClear 30S), a much larger tank with replaceable atomiser heads that gave vapers excellent flavour and more vapour production than before.

The iClear 30S had redesigned atomiser heads that took the place of the chimney section often seen in tanks, providing a much larger surface area for wicking and therefore better flavour profile and greater production of vapour than ever before. This coil design was then used in the iClear 16S, which was a second update to Innokin’s popular iClear 16 Clearomiser.

Innokin then released the Cool Fire range. Beginning with the Cool Fire 1, a tube style mod very similar to in design to the SVD, but without the variable settings. This was quickly followed by the Cool Fire 2, which like the previous used a removable battery and had a set power output. It was also widely regarded as a rare slip for Innokin in terms of visual design, as it closely resembled a grenade.

The Cool Fire 3 was rumoured but has never surfaced, however the Cool Fire 4 (or Cool Fire IV) was released, featuring variable voltage and wattage modes, a newly designed chip that would allow the device to fire sub-ohm coils and a brand new look. The Cool Fire IV is still popular, even after the release of the Cool Fire IV Plus, which was designed with sub-ohm vaping in mind even coming packaged with Innokin’s fantastic iSub G sub-ohm atomiser tank.

Innokin went on to innovate once again with the release of the InnokinCell system.

Designed originally to be used with the Innokin Disruptor mod, InnokinCells were specially designed batteries that were made to fit perfectly with the device, and allow for quick and easy battery changes.

One of Innokin’s newest devices, the latest upgrade of the Cool Fire IV named the Innokin Cool Fire IV TC 100W, added an even greater range to the power output of the Cool Fire IV taking it up to 100W.

This was to allow for the use of temperature control atomisers, tanks that use nickel, titanium or stainless steel wire to allow the user to set a temperature for the coil itself rather than a power output for the mod. This coincided with Innokin releasing a new range of replaceable atomiser heads for the iSub atomiser tank range featuring nickel and titanium coils.
