The word nic salt refers to the type of nicotine used in a vape juice of this kind. Nic salts are the natural state of nicotine that is blended with e-liquid so it can be vaped.

Are nic salts better?

What does 5050 vape juice mean?

When a vape juice is referred to as being 5050 it is talking about the concentration of vegetable glycerin (VG) and Propylene Glycol (PG) in the e-liquid. VG and PG are the two main ingredients in any vape juice and the concentration of each decides what style of vaping the e-liquid is best for.

When the concentration of VG is higher the vape juice will be thicker and provide much denser clouds of vapour. Whereas, when the PG concentration is higher the liquid is thinner and delivers a harsher throat hit.

So when an e-liquid has 5050 VG/PG concentration it is balanced on both sides. The liquid is thick enough where it can perform well with low powered device and still provide a decent cloud of vapour and the PG ratio is high enough to provide a satisfying throat hit.

What type of vape kit should I use with 5050 e-liquid?

5050 e-liquids work really well with starter pen kits such as the Aspire PockeX as they closely replicate the sensation of smoking a traditional cigarette. 5050 e-liquids would also work fine in a pod kit or other kind of low powered device. 

What is shortfill vape juice?

Shortfills are a type of e-liquid made for high powered sub-ohm vaping, due to their high VG concentration (usually 70+). They come, most commonly, in 50ml and 100ml bottles with 0mg of nicotine, due to TPD regulations. Because of this manufacturers don't fill the bottles all the way to leave room for nic shots. This is what gives shortfills their name.

Nic shots come in 10ml bottles and manufacturers usually leave enough space in the bottle to add one nic shot in a 50ml and two nic shots to a 100ml. Resulting in, 60ml of 3mg e-liquid and 120ml of 3mg e-liquid.

Are shortfills better?

If you are someone who likes to vape high powered devices and chuck big clouds, then shortfills are for you. As they are a thicker liquid, usually with a VG concentration of 70+, they need to be vaporised at higher temperatures to get the optimal flavour. 

How to add nic shot to shortfill?

When you buy a shortfill, the bottle does not come with nicotine already mixed in with the rest of the e-liquid. You have to add something called a nic shot. Nic shots are 10ml bottles of flavourless 18mg e-liquid. You add a nic shot to your shortfill by first unscrewing the lid to reveal where the e-liquid comes out of, called a top cap. You then need to remove the top cap and pour cour nic shots in. Once the nic shots are in there, put the top cap back on and give the bottle a good shake to mix the nicotine in.;

How to open shortfill bottle?

There are many different ways you can open a shortfill bottle, you can use a specially built tool, such as the Juice Locker Shortfill Cap Remover, or you could use your hands but it is a bit of a tricky job. Some people even use their teeth, but we don’t recommend this.

Can I vape shortfill without nicotine?

Yes, of course! Shortfills can be vaped just as they are without any nicotine, there is simply just the option to add nicotine if that’s what you would prefer.

What type of vape kit should I use with shortfills?

As shortfills are a thicker e-liquid they need to be vaporised at high temperatures for optimal performance. This means you would need to use a high powered sub-ohm kit or pod mod such as the Geek Vape M100 or the Smok RPM 5 to get the best out of your shortfill e-liquid.
